Documents commonly needing translation

Things to note with translation

One marriage certificate is enough

Both spouses' copies have identical content; photograph all inner pages of just one copy.

Household register marital status: translate from the original

We translate the 'never married' or 'married' entry as shown on the original document; if it hasn't been updated, we won't change it for you.

Select chat records before uploading

Just upload screenshots of the pages you intend to lodge; there's no need to export the full chat history. You'll receive a quote after uploading.

FAQ

Do both spouses' household registers need translating?
We translate whichever copy your document checklist asks for; you can also upload both, and we'll issue a certified translation for each.
Can divorce mediation agreements or court judgments be translated?
Yes. Court documents have no standard format; you'll receive a quote after uploading, and we translate the body text and court seals exactly as they appear on the original.
Which Australian official agencies can the certified translations be submitted to?
Certified translations bearing the stamp and signature of a NAATI certified translator can be submitted to the Australian Department of Home Affairs (Immigration), state transport departments (for licence conversion), courts, notaries, universities and professional assessing bodies. Please check with the receiving agency if they have any specific additional requirements.
How long does it take to get the certified translation?
This depends on the turnaround time selected when placing your order. Once paid, the certified translation will be issued within your chosen timeframe. You will receive an email and collection link once it is ready.
Can the electronic PDF version be submitted directly?
Yes. Most Australian agencies accept electronic PDF certified translations, such as online submissions to the Department of Home Affairs. If an agency requires a hard copy, a colour printout will suffice. We recommend confirming the receiving agency's requirements before submission.
How can the receiving agency verify the authenticity of the certified translation?
Every certified translation is printed with a unique trace code and digital fingerprint. The receiving agency can enter the trace code or upload the PDF on an independent verification platform to check whether the certified translation matches the originally issued version.
